Three years ago, I was the most excited I had ever been; I had been accepted to study Philosophy at the University of Manchester. Six months later, however, I was ready to give up and go home. After masses of support from both family and friends, a great deal of perseverance, and endless amounts of hard work, I will be graduating two weeks today. And guess what? I'LL BE GRADUATING WITH A FIRST CLASS DEGREE!!!
I'm not really sure what to say other than this: dreams really do come true. If you want something, no matter how difficult and unreachable it seems, put your all into achieving it. I ended my first year of university, which was one of the toughest years of my life, having just scraped a 2:1. Over the past two years, I managed to pull higher and higher marks out of the bag and improved my grade by an entire degree class by the end of my final year. After three long years of existential crises, 40,000+ words of essays, and sixteen exams, all of the sweat, blood, and tears that I put into my degree were finally worthwhile. HOW DID I GET A FIRST??
Please don't take this blog post the wrong way; I am not trying to gloat, I simply want to celebrate my achievements with all of my lovely readers. This blog has recorded everything, both happy and sad, from my entire university career, and so it only felt right to sign off that chapter of my life where it all began.
Are any of you guys graduating in the near future? Does anyone have results to celebrate? Let me know!
